The journey from Gambia to Stockholm has been very long, as you might understand, and is not easy to tell in a few words. I left Gambia with a friend because we wanted to educate us, and at that time there were no universities in the country. The highest education we could get was a high school for teachers or farmers. Any other special education was not available.

We worked in different places and saved money to emigrate. We stayed in many countries before we finally arrived in Sweden. In the preface to my book "The Story Teller's Children" I tell a lot about my youth at school.
